Sandhills Outfitters offers what we believe are the finest buffalo hunts available. Step back in time as you pursue the majestic buffalo in the vastness and grandeur of the Sandhills of north central Nebraska, the original habitat of these plain's dwellers. These are true hunts as opposed to some of the "pen" hunts available today, and stalking will be done on foot. From cowboy cookouts to staying in a modern lodge or the more historic tipi, you will relive a bit of history. Sandhills Outfitters offers the full line of buffalo hunts, from meat to large mature buffalo bulls weighing nearly a ton. Our yearling buffalo/pheasant combo has been very popular. You are getting prime meat and not culls. Trophy hunts are best booked from October thru March for best suitability for mounting purposes. The Sandhills topography on our ranch is very conducive to Sharps rifle, archery, and muzzleloading hunts and our experienced guides will work to safely and ethically put you in range. Our buffalo are totally organic and range freely in on our native grass in the Sandhills to provide a low cholesterol, low fat, healthy and tasty meat. Our buffalo never see the inside of a corral and offer a true "wild" hunting experience.  You receive the entire animal; head, horns, hide, and meat. No additional licenses are necessary for our buffalo hunts. Our non-refundable deposit is only $100.00 to reserve your hunt. 
     Buffalo have inhabited the Sandhills of Nebraska for at least the past 11000 years. Click here to read about the history of the buffalo in the Sandhills and see an actual spear point found on our ranch that is nearly 10000 years old and was used to hunt buffalo by the first inhabitants of the area.  Also see pictures of some original buffalo hunting bullets that were found in the same pastures and date back to the heyday of the buffalo hunts with Sharps rifles in the 1870's. The bullets are .45 caliber and weigh in at 500 grains.
