Buffalo hunts with us are all inclusive with meals and lodging. For billing
reasons only, our hunting packages are for the animals or birds
only, and all lodging and meals are included at no additional charge
Beginning 1/01/10 due to state regs we will need to add Nebraska state sales tax
of 5% to our
hunt fees
Our buffalo are all native grass fed and raised organically (we use no
pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, nor do we feed any grains or
supplements)
We spot the buffalo and then do all our stalking and hunting on foot. Buffalo
are the largest land mammal in North America and can do you
serious bodily injury or worse. Your guide will carry a back-up weapon in case
of emergencies
Deposits - We only require a non-refundable $150 deposit (plus 5% sales tax) to reserve your hunt,
with the balance to be paid at the actual time of the hunt
An
e-mail will hold your slot reservation for a week until we receive your deposit
No state licenses are necessary for buffalo hunting
No blaze orange clothing is required
Regular camo clothing works well
Liability - We require a signed liability release (provided by us) for all
hunters and participants booked with Sandhills Outfitters
The Hunt - We strive to provide the utmost in ethical and fair chase hunts. All
our stalking is done on foot with a guide. A reasonable amount of physical
fitness is required for our archery and muzzleloading buffalo hunts. We will do
our best to work around any health or physical issues that you may have. Please
advise us of any special dietary restrictions also.
Field Dressing and transport to Meat Processing Locker - We will
transport your buffalo to our meat processing locker at no charge.
Preliminary
Caping (ready for taxidermist) - is available at the processor
You will need to make arrangements with taxidermists as to how to proceed after
you pick up head with hide from processor-
they all have their own specific ways they like to handle it. Transportation of
head and additional prep is responsibility of the client
Weights - range from approx. 500-600 lb yearlings to nearly a ton for the trophy
bulls
We offer buffalo hunts for hunters using modern rifles, archery, crossbow,
replica blackpowder cartridge rifles, as well as muzzleloaders. Our guide is a long time archery
hunter, firearms instructor, and is Nationally certified in muzzleloading . Your
guide is also proficient in the use of and hunting with the Sharps blackpowder
cartridge rifle We
will do our best, within the realms of safety, to put you in position for a
humane harvest, utilizing the wind, topography of the land, and our knowledge of
the buffalo's habits. We do not allow the use of expandable broadheads
when archery hunting. With archery hunts we request that you bring a back-up
weapon in case you are unsuccessful with archery gear
The Hamilton ranch is over 2000 acres and the buffalo have access to different
parts of it throughout the year. The smallest area they
graze in is just slightly under a section of land. Our fencing is not high fence
but regular barb wire with some electrification.
Lodging - All our buffalo hunts include 3 days and 4 nights lodging in a modern log
cabin situated on our private fishing pond, all meals are included, breakfasts
are continental.. We also have an 18 feet tipi for the more adventurous type.
Meat,
Head, Horns, and Hide - are included with all hunts at no extra charge
Meat Shipping - we can arrange shipping of meat to your home if you are flying
in
we have a small transportation charge in addition to the regular UPS shipping
from Norfolk, NE

Our "season" for buffalo age year slots runs from Sep. 1 thru March 31
. Although we can book buffalo hunts at any time of the year, we use this
"season" as our age indicator for the buffalo
**2011-2012** season is full, booking now for 2012-2013

Nebraska sales tax of 5% is in addition to all hunts

due to unforeseen circumstances, a hunt cannot be provided after it has been
booked, we will notify you in advance and the deposit will be refunded which
will be the extent of our liability, an insurance disclaimer - has never
happened yet)

one yearling heifer buffalo hunt, a 1/2 day fully guided pheasant hunt on our
private CSA hunting ground using our own German shorthair pointers, field dressing and transportation of the buffalo to the
processing plant, and free trophy largemouth bass fishing in our cabin pond, all for only
$1950
(A resident hunting permit and habitat stamp is required for pheasant hunts, Non
residents need a $15 CSA non-resident permit and also a Nebraska habitat stamp, these
are the only
fees not included in the package)
